How the validation readiness grade works
Most founders think they have validated an idea when they have really just described it to a few friends. This checklist measures the work that actually de-risks a startup: real problem evidence, customer conversations done the right way, demand signals, a hard willingness-to-pay signal, and build readiness. Each item is weighted by how much it de-risks the idea, so a signed pre-order counts for more than a hunch. The total maps to a readiness grade from A to F.
A grade of A or B means you have done the work and can build with conviction. A C means real gaps remain. A D or F means you are still working from assumptions, and the honest move is to talk to customers and get a payment signal before you write any code.
